Supreme Court Slams AP Government On Polavaram Issue:- Andhra Pradesh government faced a huge embarrassment in the High Court and the Supreme Court several times after YSRCP took the charge. The prestigious Polavaram project got delayed and the AP government blamed the TDP government for the delay and the damage that took place because of the previous floods in the state. The government approached the Supreme Court about the irregularities in the construction and the damage that took place for the project. The Supreme Court slammed the AP government for ignoring the damage of the Polavaram project and focusing on filing cases in the top court. The court also questioned about why the AP government has been spending lakhs of rupees for the fee of the lawyers instead of staying focused on the Polavaram issue.

The principal bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has imposed a fine of Rs 120 crores for the AP government. NGT announced their decision for three projects in the country and Polavaram project is one among them. AP government approached the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the National Green Tribunal. Three different appeals are filed in the Supreme Court. "Why are several senior lawyers involved in this case? The AP government is hiring senior lawyers and they are not focused on the damage done for the Polavaram project. Notices would be served to AP government to find out how much the government paid for the lawyers. All the appeals will be investigated at a time. The hearings will be done collectively for the projects of Polavaram, Purushottamapuram and Pulichintala soon" told the Supreme Court.
