Lokmanya Tilak Express Derails Near Cuttack:- Eight coaches from the Lokmanya Tilak Express traveling between Mumbai and Bhubaneswar got derailed near Cuttack, Odisha this morning. The incident took place after Lokmanya Tilak Express hit the goods train. The incident left 25 passengers injured as per the reports from the railway officials. As per the officials, the train mishap took place at 7 AM today after 12879 LTT Superfast Express hit the guard van of the goods train between the stations of Salagaon and Nergundi.

East Coast Railway Spokesperson JP Mishra revealed this through a statement. Five coaches got derailed and three others got partially displaced due to the collision. Five of them suffered severe injuries and were rushed to a local hospital. Some of them were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack. Fire service people and the ambulance rushed to the spot to carry the rescue operations. An investigation on the incident is currently on and the real reason for the accident is yet to be known.

Other passengers were sent through other trains and the traffic was diverted. Six trains are diverted due to the incident. The railway officials initiated the steps to clear the track and restore it at the earliest.
