Bomb Threat to EVMs: AP Woman Lands in Jail:- A woman from Andhra Pradesh police has been arrested in Anakapalle, Visakhapatnam's district after she posed a bomb threat in EVM strong rooms across the state. The woman was angry for the release in the delay of money which is promised by the government. The promised money was to be transferred in relation with government-related schemes by a bank. The woman was identified as 40-year-old Sriranjani who is a community activist in a poverty alleviation program named Velugu which is run by the government of Andhra Pradesh.
Along with the manager of the Grameena Vikas Bank, Kiran Kumar, she also sent message to YSRCP President YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Superintendent of Guntur Urban. After being arrested, Sriranjani told the cops that Kiran kept certain funds of her account on hold. She purchased a fake mobile phone and stole the sim card from a friend. “We registered a case under 67 (C), 67 (D) and 67 (F) of the Information Technology Act along with Sections 380 (Theft), 420 (Cheating) and 467 (Forgery). She messaged Chief Minister and ministers along with some of the police officers in the state,” Anakapalle DSP S V V Prasad Rao said. She faked that bombs are planted in the strong rooms of EVMs. She will be produced before Guntur magistrate today.
