Andhra Pradesh On Top With 10.5% Average Growth:- The newly formed Andhra Pradesh has been ranked number one in the country with an average growth of 10.5% during the past four years. AP raced to the top surpassing many developed states in the country like Gujarat and Maharastra setting up new targets for the other states. According to the Planning Department, the average growth in the country is said to have been 7.3% in the past four years. AP is the only state to cross the growth rate of double digits. Telangana is standing next to AP in second place and Karanataka stood third.

Maharashtra raced to the sixth place while Punjab is down to 14th place. The growth rate of AP was 9.2% during 2014-15 after the state got bifurcated. The next year it reached to second and slipped to fourth last year. It raced to the top this year. AP's per capita income (PCI) increased by more than Rs 40,000 during 2017-18 after it started with Rs 93.903 in South. AP Government has been left delighted with the achievement.
