British Police Arrest 23 Year Old Man Over Manchester Attack:- In connection with the deadly explosion at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, a 23-year old man has been arrested in South Manchester.
The explosion killed 22 people, leaving 59 others injured. British PM Theresa May had earlier confirmed that the police believed they knew the identity of the suicide bomber, who died at the scene. The officials said that the man believed to be the lone attacker died at the scene after using an improved explosive device. But, the police are determining if the attacker acted alone or a part of a wider group.
The report of the arrest came at the same time as police confirmed that a man had been arrested at the Arndale Shopping Centre, amid a bomb scare there. However, the police suggested that the arrest is not believed to connected to the night’s attacks.
May in a statement said today, “We struggle to comprehend the warped and twisted mind that sees a room packed with young children not as a scene to cherished but as an opportunity for carnage.”
Greater Manchester Police said they were called to the Manchester Arena just before 10:35 p.m. local time on Monday. The explosion happened near the arena’s foyer after the concert finished, according to witnesses, who reported hearing a loud bang as they exited the arena.
One of Europe’s largest indoor arenas, the venue holds about 21,000 people. The concert arena is connected to the Manchester Victoria Station, the city’s second-largest train station.
