19 Year Old Arrested with Fake ID in the Bar

After family of 10-year-old Ramya, who died in a car accident demanded justice by holding candle light march at KBR park, the Telangana Government decided to seize all pubs, bars and restaurant which serve liquor to minors. In this process, the excise department on Wednesday arrested a 19-year-old birthday boy who was partying in Bar by providing fake ID proof.

The excise department inspected Food-Link Bar and Restaurant on Jubilee Hills Road #1. During the inspection, they found an underage boy. When questioned the boy confessed that he was celebrating his 19th birthday with eight of his friends.

Excise and prohibition inspector S. Srinivas said that “after the Ramya incident the excise authorities had directed its enforcement wings to inspect all bars and restaurants in the city.”

He added that “we inspected the Food-Link Bar and Restaurant on Jubilee Hills Road #1 on Tuesday. During the inspection, we found an under aged boy at table number 17. When we questioned him he confessed that he was only 19 years old and that on the occasion of his 19th birthday he was hosting a party for eight of his friends,” the inspector said. The accused, Vishesh Agarwal, confessed that he had procured the document when he was a student of Hindu College and that his date of birth was July 12, 1997. But, he produced a fake driving license to the bar authorities before organising the party in which his date of birth was given as July 12, 1994.”

“The fabricated licence came to light when the excise police questioned the bar authorities how they had allowed an underage boy in the bar and served liquor. We immediately informed Jubilee Hills police. The Jubilee Hills police registered a case (crime number 432/2016) under Section 420.”

On Tuesday inspections were conducted in many bars and restaurants in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills areas under the supervision of excise assistant commissioner P. Bhagawan Reddy.
