Supreme Court of India officially declares that, watching porn in India is not a crime, as it is the violation of Article 21, i.e., right to personal liberty.
It was known that in the past, a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) petition was filed by the advocate Kamlesh Vashwani, which read, to block the porn sites in the country. He opined that, the court should step in and pass an interim order to block all those websites.

Vashwani said that, there are totally 4 crore porn websites, that are operating in the country. But after the scrutiny, the government said that, it is impossible to shut the websites, as the servers of most of those sites are outside the country.
Restricting from watching porn will obstruct personal liberty, SC says
Speaking on the issue, Chief Justice H.L. Dattu said that, “Such interim orders cannot be passed by this court. Somebody may come to the court and say look I am above 18 and how can you stop me from watching it within the four walls of my room. It is a violation of Article 21 (right to personal liberty).
"The Centre is expected to take a stand. Let's see what stand the Centre will take," he added.
