After prowessing his skills as a successful cricketer, Virat Kohli is all set to turn businessman.
According to media reports, 26-year-old right-hander Kohli, who is the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 8), will soon invest a whopping Rs 90 crore to open his own line of gyms.
The gyms will be named as "Chisel" and it will be jointly owned by Kohli, Chisel Fitness and Mumbai-based Cornerstone Sport & Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Satya Sinha, the director of Bengaluru-based startup Chisel Fitness and one of the Kohli's partner in the joint business venture told TOI that "the total investment to launch 75 centers in three years is around Rs 190 crores."
"We will launch gyms of various sizes and with different facilities according to their locations. We are also in talks with international sports-based fitness experts to bring in their expertise," Sinha said.
Arvind Singhal, founder of retail consultancy Technopak was quoted saying as, "These days, the reach of fitness centers goes beyond just the top ten cities. Apart from his financial equity, Kohli's brand equity is so strong at the moment that it may catapult the chain to success".
In February this year, the fashionable and fitness freak Kohli also launched his own online clothing line "WROGN".
However, Kohli is not the only Indian cricketer who will be trying his luck into business profession. Other cricketers too have successfully forayed into the business ventures.
