How will you explain to your boss that you spilled a bottle of his whisky mistaking it for waste water? Tough right? Ok lets take it to a grander level. How will you explain a whole plant of Whisky down the drain while quoting the same reason? 600 workers now have to give an explanation for the thousands of gallons of whisky that went down the drain accidentally when they tried to flush the waste water and triggered the wrong one to go off.
At Dumbarton, Scotland, thousands of gallons of whisky went waste after the employees dumped it in the drain. Earlier reports said over 5000 gallons but the company was quick to say that the loss was much lesser. However, no figures were quoted as they maintained secrecy on the issue.
Chivas Brothers is a premium brand of whisky all over the world who produce various brands like Chivas Regal, Ballantine's, Glenlivet, Royal Salute etc. Currently it is not sure which brand's whisky was wasted but one of them is going to suffer major losses.
Adding to the misfortune of the people, their drain pipe is not linked to River Leven or any other water body but into a waste water plant. Sorry, your dreams of free premium whisky river have been crashed.
They are investigating where the procedures went wrong to ensure it doesn't repeat. They have also announced that this will not cause any shortage of the most loved whisky. Phew!
