Assembly deputy speaker Nadendla Manohar and Legislative Council Chairman Chakrapani today made it clear that action will be taken against those TRS members who have attacked the Lok Satta MLA Mr Jaya Prakash Narayana in the assembly premises this morning after the Governor speech.

Speaking to media persons after their meeting with the Governor ESL Narasimhan at the Raj Bhavan, Manohar and Chakrapani said they have ordered chief marshals for a detailed report on the attack and they would decide on the action after going through the report.

“We would like to know why the attack was carried out and after going through the report, we will take action,” they said but refused to explain the nature of action to be initiated. The issue will also be discussed with members of both assembly and council, the presiding officers told media persons.

Explaining that they have a responsibility to ensure the safety of MLAs and MLCs, especially in the premises of the assembly, Manohar and his colleague said steps would be taken to see that such incidents are not repeated.
