Demand For Telangana Paddy:- Telangana slightly turned out to be the ‘Rice Bowl of India’ after the steep fall of paddy cultivation in other states of the country. Paddy cultivation was taken up in 64 lakh acres in Telangana. Overall in the last five to six years, Telangana has seen a huge upside in paddy cultivation because of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme. In his recent meeting, Telangana Chief Minister KCR has once again reminded the demand for Telangana paddy in the neighbouring states.

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah called KCR for 2.5 lakh tones of rice to fulfil the needs of Karnataka state. In the same way, the Tamil Nadu chief minister wrote a letter to KCR requesting for 3 lakh tones of rice for the needs of Tamil Nadu.

By considering the demand for rice in Telangana, CM KCR has ordered large-scale milling of paddy. Telangana in recent times started a record huge increase, that is 10 per cent of hike of rice in one month. Rice price is not fixed in Telangana and according to the traders, farmers are selling rice by keeping their profit after getting from mill. The up trend for rice is continuing. Mill owners are also charging high because of a lack of mechanism. Because of the demand, Telangana rice price is not fixed and people are encashing the circumstances.
