Banking Services partially hit due to Bharat Bandh:- Several trade unions of the country called for Bharat Bandh for two days as they are unhappy with the government policies. Bharat Bandh started today and it had very little impact. Banking services are partially impacted as some of the employees failed to report for the duty. The banks issued strict orders as it is March-end and the banks have to deliver loads of work. Several public sector banks are hit and there are delayed in the clearances of the cheques. Some of the bank employees participated in the strike and the services are hit in those regions.

The bank unions are protesting against the Indian government to privatise the two public sector banks that was announced in the Union budget. They are also demanding an increase in the interest rate on deposits and reduction in the service charges. The impact of Bharat Bandh was seen in Kerala as the roads are blocked and the normalcy was hit. Buses of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) were restricted to the bus depots. The emergency services are excluded from all over the country from the strike. The cops made arrangements for the facilities to reach hospitals. Railway tracks are blocked in West Bengal and the train services are interrupted. Except Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), all the trade unions participated in the strike. 20 crore formal and informal workers across the country participated in the strike.
