Supreme Court Says That The Country Should Consider Liquor Home Delivery:- The Supreme Court of India advised all the states to consider the home delivery of liquor so that the crowds across the wine marts would be reduced in this coronavirus time. With the people ignoring social distancing at wine shops, the Supreme Court made these comments today. The top court said declining to entertain a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) seeking a ban on the direct sale of liquor in the country. Justices Ashok Bhushan, Sanjay Kishan Kaul and BR Gavai heard the PIL through a video conference today.

The Supreme Court said that they will not pass any order but it is the states that should consider the indirect sale of liquor to take up social distancing. The top court also said that the discussion about the home delivery of alcohol is currently going on. Zomato is being considered to branch out the delivery of liquor across the country. As per the reports from the International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI), there is no legal provision of home delivery for liquor in the country. Several food delivery apps are in plans to change these. The Supreme Court said that the Union Home Ministry should clarify about the sale of liquor online in the states.
