Unnao Rape Case: Seven Cops Suspended:- Unnao rape case created a sensation across the country. Hours after her last rites are held on Sunday, the government of Uttar Pradesh suspended seven policemen for negligence. Ajay Kumar Tripathi, Station House Officer of Unnao’s Bihar police station, along with six other police personnel are suspended said Awanish Awasthi, additional Chief Secretary of the state. The 24-year-old rape victim died of burn injuries in Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. The last rites were performed in her village yesterday.

The family members said that they would perform the last rites only after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visits their family. But they continued after the government assured a job to one of their family members. Lucknow divisional commissioner Mukesh Meshram and inspector general of police SK Bhagat spoke to their parents. The 24-year-old girl was raped last year and she was set on fire on Thursday morning when she was on her way to the court. Five accused were arrested in the case which included two of them who raped her.
