629 Pakistani Girls and Women Sold as Brides to China:- As many as 629 girls and women from Pakistan have been sold as brides to men in China and were shifted to the country. A trafficking network was traced and the list was obtained by The Associated Press. Since 2018, as many as 629 women were shifted to China. In October this year, a Faisalabad court acquitted 31 Chinese nationals in connection with trafficking cases. Most of the women have been threatened or bribed as per the officials. The government sought to curtail investigations after they mounted pressure on the officials from Federal Investigation Agency.

Some of the FBI officials are even transferred after the trafficking was busted. The interior and foreign ministers refused to comment on this case. Pakistani media are pushed to curb on trafficking. Most of them feared reprisals. The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that they are unaware about the trafficking and the list released. Pakistan's Christian minority has turned out the new target for brokers who diverted girls and women to China. In Muslim majority Pakistan, Christians are targeted as they are the poorest communities of the country.
