CM KCR Announces New Revenue Bill to Fight Corruption:- Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has announced a new revenue bill in bid to get rid of corruption and provide hassle-free service to farmers and the people, the Chief Minister said in his Independence Day address at Golconda Fort on Thursday.
In reference to old Revenue Acts that had inflicted immense damage on farmers and people, KCR said: “We have to undo these damages. The government is engaged in preparing a new Revenue Act. Let me share the good news with you that in the coming Budget session of the Assembly, the new Revenue Act will be introduced.”
The government, he said, believes that good governance is possible through administrative reforms. Several existing Acts are not sufficient to meet this goal and eliminate corruption. This was the reason why the government brought in a new Panchayat Raj Act and a new Municipality Act.
On the economic development in Telangana, he said prudent and practical financial policies of the State government over the past five years had resulted in more than doubling of State’s wealth. “From about Rs 4 lakh crore at the time of formation of Telangana State, it now stands at Rs 8.66 lakh crore,” the Chief Minister said.
KCR also announced a 60-day special action plan to transform villages and towns with special emphasis on cleanliness and greenery.
He said the government would release funds from the Finance Commission grants to the local bodies before the commencement of the program.
Under the first phase of the program, sanitation in the villages and towns will be improved with the involvement of the people.
Stating that unhygienic conditions are the root cause for ill-health, he said in this 60-day program, officials and public representatives with the participation of the public should change the topography of villages and towns.
The Chief Minister said that civil society organizations should work with the people in completely clearing the garbage.
