Ten Lakh Bank Employees To Go On Strike From Today:- Over ten lakh bank employees from the government and the private sector banks will be on two-day strike starting on May 30th. This is after the Indian Bank Association (IBA) failed to make any statement over the promised two percent wage hike. The All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) released a statement accordingly and it will be headed by United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) which heads nine bank unions.
The wage revision has been due from November 1st last year and the bankers haven't received any update on this. The bankers even requested the IBA to come up with a better offer than the 2% hike but they haven't heard anything. The Chief Labour Commissioner (CLC) tried their best to prevent the strike but there have been no positive developments after which the bankers decided to go on strike for two complete days.
