KCR Accuses Congress Leaders For Obstructing Kaleshwaram Project:- The Congress leaders have been accused By Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for obstructing the Kaleshwaram project and securing the National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) stay order.
KCR said, “It is known fact that former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha is impeding the project.” He further questioned, “How can a farmer pay Rs 6lakh per day to a lawyer to argue on Kaleshwaram project?” He said that it is quite apparent who is trying to shackle the construction of project and who is behind the scenes.
Addressing a media conference at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday KCR said, “The stay doesn’t mean the project has stopped. It is temporary silly setback which we will overcome”. The directive will be challenged in the court, said Mr. KCR.
It may be recalled that the Telangana government was ordered by the NGT on Thursday to halt the work on Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme (KLIS) till it secures all required environment and forest clearances.
