Telangana Celebrates State Formation Day:- The youngest State of India, Telangana celebrated its third formation day with grandeur across all the mandals, divisions and district-levels on a grand scale.
The National Flag had been hoisted by the Ministers and MLAs in the respective districts to commence the formation day celebrations. It is on this day in 2014, that Telangana was carved out of AP as India’s 29th state.
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi too wished the people of Telangana on the Statehood day.
The floral tributes were paid to the Telangana Martyrs at Gun Park by TS CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao. The CM later hoisted the National flag at the Police Parade grounds followed by a ceremonial parade. The cash awards were even presented to eminent persons from different fields.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR said that “in a short span of three years, the State had made rapid progress in all the sectors and was on course to become golden (bangaru) Telangana. He even spoke about the initiatives taken up by his government and said that by December this year, Mission Bhagiratha will be completed. The third phase of Telangana’s Harithaharam will be started next month.
Quoting the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report, he said Telangana topped revenue growth rate in the country in 2016-17 at 17.82%. A major portion of the state’s revenue is being spent for the welfare of the people, said KCR.
The TRS government is striving hard to provide 24 hours electricity to farmers and held that the State has emerged as a region with quality power supply without cuts. From the coming year, special colleges for ST women will be set up. The CM further applauded the TS-iPass initiative and said that villages will be brought in the path of development.
The CM deplored that in the united-state, agriculture was in crisis situation, but after formation of Telangana the agriculture and allied sectors are being given high priority. He requested the farmers to utilize the government schemes. KCR asserted that after the state formation, his government took care of well being of the all the sections of people in the shortest possible time.
KCR said that the state was spending Rs 40,000 crore annually on 36 welfare schemes.
“The government is giving pension under Asara Scheme to 40 lakh helpless individuals. For the marriage of daughters from the poor families, we are implementing Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyan Laxmi schemes. For the hungry poor, 6 kgs of rice is given per member at a subsidized price of Rs one per kg. To help the poor live with dignity, 2 Bed Room houses are given free of cost,” he said.
For all the hostel students, fine rice is supplied for their meal. To impart international level education to the poor, 512 new Residential Schools have been set up, the Chief Minister said, adding: “Let me share with you that on the lines of SC Degree Colleges for women, from next academic year, ST Degree Colleges will also be set up for ST girl students. For the benefit of SC/STs a Special Fund has been created based on their population figures and special programmes are framed for the development and welfare.”
The employees and workers at the field level and increased their salaries by leaps and bounds have been identified by the government, he said. “For the first time in independent India’s history, ours is the first government, which created a fund for lawyers and journalists in the State’s Budget,” he added.
The CM addressing a gathering at the Parade Grounds said, “I pray to God that the schemes of drinking water, water for irrigation, infrastructure, power and welfare schemes will be successfully implemented and ensure that the people lead a happy and prosperous life.”
The state has been beautifully decorated and the government offices are lit up with colorful lights. Three days of cultural programs and food festivals will be held to mark the state celebration. Several rallies and blood donation camps will be conducted in the memory of the Telangana martyrs.
