OLA Cabs Charge Rs 149 crore For Mumbaikar, Sushil Narsian

Mumbai-based resident, Sushil Narsian was charged with a whopping  bill of Rs 149 crore, for his Ola cab ride, and it was not even a prank.

Here is a narrative that unfolds what exactly transpired on the fateful day.

Narsian booked an Ola cab on April 1, from where he stays in Mulund West to Vakola Market. Under ordinary circumstances, the ride would have cost him somewhere around Rs 200-250.

But, he was shocked to see a Rs 149 crore bill for a trip, that he did not even start on.

He was assigned a cab. But, what happened next, could be said, was out of this world. Unfortunately, the cabbie’s mobile phone got switched off and he was not able to find the residence of Narsian on Google Maps.

The cab looked to be stationary on the Maps, when Narsian scrolled through his mobile phone, to check the driver’s location. This prompted Sushil to walk towards the cab’s location instead. On reaching the driver’s location, he neither found the cab nor the cab driver.

Narsian, later found out that the cab driver himself canceled the ride, some time back, and an unreasonable amount of Rs 149 crore, was charged, for the trip he did not even take, when he tried to book another cab through the Ola application.

Additionally, the mobile application, had even deducted Rs 127, he had in his mobile wallet.

On contacting the cab aggregator, they responded it was a technical glitch, and refunded the Rs 127, within two hours, and removed the Rs 149 crore bill that was charged to him.

Ola further stated that, Narsian will also be given a discount for the next 25 rides he takes till May 31.

The 22 km journey turned out to be a nuisance for this unlucky Ola rider. And, it was also unclear whether Ola had played a prank on him as it was April 1.
