The Telangana Government, today, will take necessary steps, at the Legislative Assembly, to cancel the bail granted to Swami Aseemanand.
Swami Assemanand, is the prime accused in the 2007 Mecca Masjid bomb blast.
The Majlis-e-Ittehad-Ul Muslimeen (MIM), floor leader, Akbaruddin Owaisi, raised the issue, through a Point during Zero Hour in the House.
Aseemanand and Bharat Mohanlal Rateshwar alias Bharat Bhai, a co-accused in the case, were granted bail by the court of the Fourth Metropolitan Sessions Judge.
Home Minister, Nayani Narasimha Reddy, in reply to the MIM leader, said, “Whatever question raised by the member, Akbaruddin Owaisi is a valid question. An inquiry definitely, will be conducted on how Assemanand got bail.”
All the efforts will be done, in cancellation of the bail, and justice will be ensured, added Mr. Narasimha Reddy.
Owaisi, said, “The cases were registered and Hindutva members were arrested after the CBI inquiry.”
However, Swami Aseemanand was granted bail by a court.
“I appeal to the government to put pressure on the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and they should be said that whoever has got bail in the bomb blasts case, their bails, should be canceled,” added Owaisi.
The MIM leader, further added, added that terrorists have no religion, and alleged Aseemanand, as a “Deshatgard” (terrorist).
Owaisi said, “The terrorists should be punished in a serious and severe manner, whether it is Osama Bin Laden or Aseemanand.”
“I am hopeful that the government will prevail upon and pressurize the NIA, to see that the terrorists are sent back to jail,” added Owaisi.
Swami Aseemanand, alias Naba Kumar Sarkar, was arrested on November 19, 2010, from Haridwar, in connection with the Mecca Masjid blast on May 18, 2007.
The bomb blast had killed nine persons.
Aseemanand and six others were also acquitted in the Ajmer blast case by a court in Jaipur, on March 8 this year.
The prime accused was then brought from Jaipur and lodged in a prison here, in Hyderabad.
The Court, which had granted bail to the accused, on condition, not to leave Hyderabad without the permission of the court.
And when required, he should be present for the trial, said the Court.
