While Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao has not decided on the issue of, whom to form the government in Tamil Nadu, both the factions started claiming for the opportunity. Care taker Chief Minister O Paneerselvam says that he is ready to prove majority in the house. V K Sasikala claims that she is having 129 MLAs in her side. The net result is a paralysed governance which is making the people of Tamil Nadu to suffer.

The immediate strategy of Mr Panneerselvam is to win over a few more legislators from the Sasikala camp that is just enough to ensure that she does not have the required 117 to prove for a simple majority in the 235-member Tamil Nadu assembly.

The AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala staked claim to form the government, stating that she has the support of over 129 of the party's 134 MLAs.

While the MLAs are locked up in the resort by Sasikala to avoid descent, there are MLAs and MPs shifting their allegiance to OPS. This has made Sasikala to start worrying if the decision of governor is delayed, she may not be left with enough MLAs to prove majority or even governor may not call her for the formation of the government. Moreover the verdict of supreme court in the disproportionate asset is also awaited this week, which may nail her dream of becoming the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, if it is against her.

"The governor has to follow procedure. The centre has no role to play in this," said Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.
