In a tragic road incident, five people of the same family including an 18-month-old toddler died on the spot on Wednesday. The family was travelling in Scorpio jeep met which met with an accident on the NH-16 near Gokulapadu area in Visakhapatnam district. Four other members were critically injured in the accident.

The police said that "the family of 11 came to Visakhapatnam city for a holiday and were on their way to Hyderabad. On Wednesday night, front right wheel of the vehicle suddenly burst. The driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a road divider, crossing over to the other side of the NH-16 where the vehicle was hit by a lorry coming from the opposite direction. "

The deceased were identified as Rajesh Singh (42), Roopa Singh (49), Subhash Singh (18), Priya Singh (18 months) and Sneha Singh (18) all were residents of Hyderabad city in Telangana.

Three people died on the spot. Priya Singh and Sneha Singh lost their lives while undergoing treatment at King George Hospital in Vizag city on Thursday morning. The police have a registered case and investigation is going on.
