Over half of Telangana Budget Unspent

After the state bifurcation, the situations across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana changed drastically. As per the latest update, the Telangana state government could not spent more than half of the budget announced for the year 2016-17. The quoted amount has been R 1.29 lakh-crore and with just three months left for the current financial year to end up. During the winter sessions of the Assembly, the state government announced that Rs 51,615 crores have been spent till Septemer however the state’s Finance Minister Etela Rajendra expressed his confidence on spending the rest of the estimated amount in the last quarter.

It also has been estimated that the state could spend Rs 10,000 crore from October to December which is quite low. Rajendar revealed that the revenue collection of the state increased by 13% and the sales tax percentage has gone up by 22%. Rajendar also said that the impact of currency demonetization and GST is to be assessed. However the opposition parties remained angry for not even spending half of the quoted budget.
