Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other Union Ministers launched State government’s flagship programme, Mission Bhagiratha at Komatibanda village in Gajwel constituency in Medak district.
The main aim of this Mission is to supply piped drinking water to every household in Telangana.
Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s hindi speech was the highlight of the meeting. The main strategy of KCR was to draw Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Ministers attention.

Modi was accompanied by Governor E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and some Union Ministers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited a photo exhibition on Mission Bhagiratha.
In his speech KCR spoke about the Centre’s assistance for the newly-formed Telangana State in the last two years. He also spoke on the issues related to the development of Telangana State which are still pending before the Union government.
The Chief Minister apart from explaining about the Centre’s help also praised Modi in Hindi. Everyone was prompted to clap in support of his speech. People in Medak are also familiar with Hindi language due to which, KCR winded up his speech in Hindi only.
KCR showered all praises for Modi saying “for the first time in history there is government at the Centre which is striving to curb corruption completely. Modi government is the most progressive and states-friendly. Telangana only needs blessings of Modi.”
KCR also appealed to Modi to sanction a national level irrigation project, an all India medical institute and IT investment region for the state. Modi assured all help and support for the state, but gave assurance on the requests made by KCR.
Nearly one lakh people gave a standing ovation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the public meeting.
On the request of Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatraya, legislators, State and Union Ministers, officials stood at their seats and clapped for one minute to mark Modi’s maiden visit to Telangana State after its formation.
At the end of the meeting, KCR felicitated Modi with a silver coated peacock memento and also presented a Gujarati cap and star-studded red shawl to the Prime Minister.
KCR also presented mementoes to Governor E S L Narasimhan and all the Union Ministers present at the meeting.
