On a row of tight beats to JNU Students Union leader Kanhaiya Kumar, here comes another jolt from Rajasthan Minister.

Vasudev Devnani, Minister of State for Education (primary and secondary) said in the assembly, “To inculcate the feeling of patriotism in students, major changes are being made in the curriculum.”

The minister further said that, the changes in the syllabus is required, so that, “no one like Kanhaiya Kumar is born” in the state. The minister made sure the school’s new curriculum include the biographies of the freedom fighters.

State Higher Education Minister Kali Charan Saraf said, “In view of the recent JNU incident, government universities have been asked to hoist the national flag so as to inculcate patriotism in students”.

The minister, earlier this week, also said, several Indian saints life stories will also be added in the new syllabus.

"Figures like Hemu Kalani, Maharaja Dahrsen, Saint Kanwar Ram and Swami Tauram have been added so that students can know about them," Devnani said on Sunday.

Devnani has already removed works by John Keats, Thomas Hardy, William Blake, T S Eliot and Edward Lear, from the revised 8th class English textbooks.

Earlier, it was in the news that, the classics by these English writers and poets have been replaced by lesser-popular authors, whose works have a regional flavor.

JNUSU Chief, Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested on the sedition charges over a controversial event on the campus, where anti-India slogans were allegedly raised. However, he was later released on bail.
