After getting released from the jail, JNUSU chief Kanhaiya Kumar has got a warm welcome from university students. The Students Union president then took on the mike and gave shots to the government, in his style.
The students assembled in large numbers and shouted slogans “lal salam to comrade Kanhaiya” and "we want azaadi from RSS and BJP".
Reciprocating the same, Kanhaiya spoke to the students saying, “I come from a village where there are magic shows. People show magic and sell rings that fulfil all wishes... We have some people like that in our country, who say black money will come back, sabka saath sabka vikas.”
“We Indians forget too soon, but this time the tamasha (show) is too big and these jumlas (sentences) won’t be forgotten.” “I have say special thanks to people in Parliament who are deciding in debate what is wrong or right and prime time anchors who are debating it. While defaming me, they made me famous,” he said.
Expressing a soft corner on Prime Minister Modi’s tweet, Kanhaiya said, “I have many differences with the PM, but I agree with his tweet Satyameva Jayate because these words are in our Constitution”.
“We are not seeking ‘azaadi (freedom)’ from India. We want ‘azaadi’ within India,” he added.
The Students Union president said that, he had no rivalry with ABVP. “There is no animosity towards ABVP because we are democratic. We see them as our opposition. We truly believe in democracy and the constitution,” he said.
Kanhaiya’s speech became viral overnight and the Students Union’s chief went on trending on all the social networking sites, with unlimited number of tweets and posts. Many students were seen wiping tears during Kanhaiya's address.
