A leader born out of a movement would have that craze in the hearts of the millions, which even that leader cannot expect.

That is what happened with Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), the first Chief Minister of Telangana state.

While the fight for Telangana state took a halt over the years, it is he, who resumed again after forming Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party in 2001.

With not much power or background, KCR then managed to drive the struggle vehicle on his own. Over the years, he made up a separate following in Telangana state by injecting Telangana fever among the people.

He explained the importance of having the separate state and the benefits, the state’s people get, after forming Telangana. He awakened the spirit and zeal to struggle for the separate state.

He is the inspiration behind forming several student unions in Hyderabad and other places of the state and fight against the Centre for the separate state.

After an immense struggle over a decade for the separate state, conducting protests, agitations, hunger strikes and all, finally the Centre had to bow down its head for KCR’s restless struggle and declare Telangana as the separate state.

KCR witnessed never before victory

In 2014 elections, the TRS party won 11 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats and 63 of the 119 Assembly seats, and emerged as the party with the largest vote share.

After that range of victory, KCR constantly kept up the public’s confidence and implemented several welfare programmes.

Where single room itself has been a dream for many, it is KCR, who dared to announce double bedroom houses to the poor and even kept his promise constructing several houses, till date. He even offered 3 acres of land to the poor, registering that land under woman’s name in the family.

At a point of time, where several felt that Telangana would surely bow its head down in front of Andhra for current, KCR till date did not do it and managed to assure 24/7 electricity in the coming days.

Hiking the government employees salaries, water grid project to supply free drinking water and several other projects, which are assumed to be impossible in the beginning, were implemented by KCR, jolting the oppositions.

KCR stole the hearts of Andhrites too

The best credit KCR earned for his restless service to the state residents is, stealing the hearts of Andhrites.

In the recent GHMC elections, several felt that, TRS might not show much influence as Hyderabad has more number of Andhra people. But to the surprise, all the oppositions, except MIM are restricted to single number seats and TRS managed to bag 99 out of 150 seats in the recently held GHMC elections.

That itself says the efficiency of KCR and is a clear proof to say that even Andhrites in Telangana state fell in love with KCR.

KCR’s efficiency flew off all oppositions

Currently, Telangana literally has no notable opposition and is enjoying the supremacy. While TDP, YSRCP is out of the question, Congress is able to get slightly fewer votes, but those votes are nowhere sufficient to deal with the king size KCR and TRS.
