Ankapur chicken is getting global popularity and is now receiving the orders in bulk from various parts of the country.

In the Telugu states, the places get famous with the eatables like Hyderabad is famous for Biryani, Kakinada for Kaja, Nellore for fish curry etc. Anyone visiting those places, would not leave, without tasting the eatables.

In the same way, a small village named Ankapur, in Armoor Mandal, Nizamabad district, is famous for its chicken and the chicken is named after the village name itself.
       
Ankapur Chicken has its existence since 40 years, but it got global wide fame from the past two decades. In Nizamabad, Ankapur Chicken cost is Rs. 600 per kg, which even includes 1 kg of rice. A single plate of Ankapour Chicken is roughly around Rs. 130.

In Nizamabad district, it is available in almost every curry point and other retail outlets, hotels etc. In fact, it is even found in almost all the towns of north Telangana districts.     

Speaking about the popularity of Ankapur Chicken, Mr Malla Goud, owner of Ankapur Chicken Center in Nizamabad, said that his father Pedda Rama Goud had pioneered Ankapur Chicken in the village 40 years back. The farmers of Ankapur liked the dish and used to regularly order it.”

“In Nizamabad, Ankapur Chicken is introduced in the late 1990s and since then, it is very popular. Even when NRIs visits the district or the village, they would order it in bulk. We are proud that our chicken was named after Ankapur. Orders are regularly placed from Nanded city in Maharashtra,” Goud said.   

Ankapur chicken affordable by common man  

More of all, in spite of such huge popularity among the people, Ankapur chicken cost is affordable even by the common man, when compared to multicuisine restaurant prices. So that makes the Ankapur popularity rise day by day and now it is proud to say that, a small village in Telangana today , is able to export the Ankaour Chicken to other countries too.

Hope the popularity rises more and not just Ankapur, hope every Telangana village gets popular with some unique specialty.
