Circus now playing in Chattisgarh: Pappy tries to woo tribals and farmers

Pappy still isn't wiser or popular than he was a month ago. His aides call him a game changer. That is true. But instead of turning the game to his side, he used to shift to a new game altogether. Last time, when he spoke to the jute mill workers in Kolkata, as a standard practice he targeted Modi. But BJP is nowhere in West Bengal over the years. The primary opponents of Congress in the state are Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Trinamool Congress.
Poor Pappu, without knowing this tries to make mockery of Modi and Pappu himself became a joker there. Such is the wisdom of Pappu.
Coming to the present day, Pappy took the party's flagship landbill protest against the Modi government to Chhattisgarh. During his first day of his two-day visit to the state, he spoke at length on the lad rights of tribals and farmers.
"Near Delhi, in Noida, they (the government) took away land belonging to farmers and have made a racing track. The farmers are in tears. If land is being taken from adivasis (tribals) then they should have a say in it," he said at the tribal-dominated Korba.
Mr Pappy said during his visit to Australia, he had visited the mines there. "There too, tribals have been displaced because of mining... Very soon tribals will be reduced to labourers."
He questioned the development model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that tribals do not stand to benefit from it and sought to corner the ruling BJP over issues like displacement due to coal mining and compensation against land acquisition.
"When Narendra Modi came to power, he changed the (land) bill... scrapped social audit," he said. "It does not matter if landwas not used within five years for the purpose for which it was required. Once land is taken, it is taken. Leave social audit. What does social audit mean?", he questioned.
