Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections are going to be held in both the Telugu states and regarding this, the notification is about to be released by the Election Commission.
In 6 places in Telangana state and 4 places in Andhra Pradesh state, these particular MLC elections will be held. The notification on this issue is going to be released on May 14th. The last date for nominations ends on the 21st of May. The proper scrutiny regarding the nominations laid will be made on the next day, that is on the 22nd of May. The last date for the withdrawal of the nominations is 25th of May.
Counting on the same day:
After the above procedure is done accordingly, then the elections would be held on June 1st, throughout the day, that is from 9AM to 4PM. If time supports, on the same day, from 5PM, the counting of the votes would also take place. Finally the election procedure would wind up by the 3rd of June.
Actually, there are three places vacant, in AP state to contest in the elections. But after the death of Paaladugu Venkat Rao, an extra place is vacant and that added to the count and made the total four. Finally, there are 6 places in Telangana and 4 places in Andhra Pradesh that are waiting to fill up through MLC elections.
