The Telangana government has decided to set up Telangana state Council of Higher Education and orders also have been passed to the concern ministry to immediately establish this organisation. This is a mere shock to the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education [APSCHE] and to the Andhra government. With this, the row over EAMCET counselling has reached to new peaks.
As per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2013, EAMCET and many exams should be held jointly and counsellng also. But the Telangana government has delayed the process of EAMCET counselling as it is drawing several strategies regarding the fees reimbursement scheme. Nativity has been a burning issue in the fees reimbursement scheme and Andhra government has slashed at Telangana government over this issue.
APSCHE has released the engineering counselling notification on July 30th without consulting the Telangana government. This has irked the Telangana sarkar and Education minister Jagadish Reddy appealed to the students of Telangana not to take part in the counselling process. In addition to this couple of days back, Chandrababu Naidu has proposed to bear 58 percent of the students fees and asked Telangana government to bear the remaining.
