TRS Nizamabad MP Kavitha's effigy has been burnt by Bhagyanagar Prajarahita Samithi, BJP and BJYM activists in protest over her remarks on Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana in Hyderabad today. The Police have obstructed the protest and arrested the agitating protestors.
Kavitha speaking to an English daily categorically said, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir are not part of India but forced to merge with union of India after the Independence. Further Kavitha added that the government should move on and draw international border, accept the fact that some parts don't belong to India.
Pakistan media too highlighted Kavitha's statements and supported them. However, these statements turned controversial as Congress and BJP leaders have openly criticised Kavitha's lack of knowledge. Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi has slammed Kavitha and added remarks casts serious doubts on integrity and legitimacy of Indian Union and whatever parts are held by Pakistan are illegally occupied.
BJP responding on the statements said, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana were not forced to merge with India after the Independence, according to the people's wish they dissolved in the Union. Such statements are not appreciated and Lawmakers should make statements as the whole world is watching and will be taking note.
