The Supreme Court of India has ordered the Election Commission of Andhra Pradesh to declare the Municipal elections results after May 7th when the general elections in state conclude. Also the Apex court opined that the results of Municipal elections will certainly have impact on the general elections and so has pushed the date of results.
The Supreme Court questioned Election Commission's approach over the Municipal and general elections and added that not to cite technical problems to declare the results in hurry.
With the Supreme Court decision, political parties in the state breathed smooth as they were worried. Many leaders have welcomed the Supreme's decision and are now getting ready for the campaign of general elections.
“We will abide the Supreme Court decision,” added one of the Election Commission official.
