Tabloids can even report false death, Kanaka speaks out

Actress Kanaka is not dead. Reporting a person as dead is even worse than linking up actors for publicity. An angry Kanaka has called a press meeting in Kerala, saying 'I'm not dead yet'.

Allegedly, the popular South film actress has been suffering from cancer and has been undergoing treatment in Kerala. A tabloid has reported that Kanaka passed away and even went as far as to say she has been avoiding everyone since she had taken a sabbatical from films a decade back. It was implied that her husband struggled with his businesses, which led to her disappearance.

However, the mere fact that she is alive shows that everything should not be taken at face value. Kanaka is very much here and is definitely not avoiding everyone. A press conference from where she is currently staying does not look like a disappearance.

Moreover, she was quoted by the media as saying that there has never been a scare of cancer and that she is healthy. "I don't think anyone would fake their death, not even film stars. I have stayed away from cinema for personal reasons," she reportedly said. Commenting that this was not a publicity gimmick, she noted that she would probably return to the silver screen after signing the perfect role.
