The Election Commission decided to conduct by-election for the Assembly in the Avanigadda Constituency in Krishna District.
As the constituency is vacant due to TDP MLA Ambati Brahmanaiah’s demise, the elections for Avanigadda is under consideration of the Election Commission.

Ambati Brahmanaiah was a non controversial leader who was considered as a role model by the TDP President Chandrababu Naidu and he was paid tributes by all the political parties in the Assembly on the first day of the budget sessions.
The decision of the Election Commission has given way to the suspicion and allegations on the conduct of the Election Commission which is constituted as an autonomous body to conduct elections in the Country and ensure fair polls in the wake of 15 vacancies are existing the State for the Assembly due to the suspension of their Membership by the Speaker following the recommendations from their respective party chiefs for the violation of the party whip.
When 15 more Assembly seats are vacant, Election Commissions focus on a single constituency is giving cause to raise questions.
