Legal aid to Ponnala

The Andhra Pradesh Government has passed orders granting legal aid to minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah. The order stated that all the court expenses of Ponnala Lakshmaiah would be sponsored by the government. Already ministers Dharamana Prasada Rao, Geeta Reddy,Kanna and Sabitha have got the legal aid. It may be noted that these ministers received notices from the Supreme Court-in the illegal assets case-for allegedly signing 26 controversial government orders.

Notably, one of the ministers, Mopidevi, who also received notices, is currently under judicial custody.  Mopidevi Venkataramana, however, is not getting any legal aid from the state government. It may be recalled that Mopidevi was arrested by the CBI for allegedly signing GOs, which apparently benefitted Matrix Prasad, another accused in illegal assets case.
