State Government earns a whopping Rs 170 Cr in liquor auctions, as per sources on Tuesday. The stringent improvisation on the side lines of the recent ACB raids on benami transactions did do good to the exchequer say sources. The state almost earned over three times more than its earning in 2010, the earning then was just Rs 48 Cr.
As per the stats provided, the state witnessed an unprecendeted cash inflow from the auctions. The auctions were conducted for 5703 shops and 68284 applications were received. Inspite of 893 shops not receiving any applications, the amount is really huge, recalled sources. In 2010 for 6596 shops 48602 applications were received and the state earned just Rs 48 Cr.
