The nominations to 18 assembly constituencies and one Loksabha constituency concluded on May 25. The Election Commission has declared that it has received as many as 431 nominations to all constituencies.

The chief electoral officer has said that Tirupati has received a maximum of 45 nominations while the least number of nominations were received in Narasannapeta (10 nominations).  The maximum number of nominations were received on the last day, which are 212, added Banwarlal.

Elucidating the security arrangements, Banwarlal has also said that they have seized 22 crore rupees cash, 1,33,00 litres of liquor besides filing 8,9990 cases and arresting3,076 persons.

It may be noted that the last date for withdrawing the nominations are May 28. Except for independent candidates, the chances of other party members withdrawing the nominations are very grim usually and the case would be the same this time too. However, lets wait and watch if there would be any nomination withdrawals this time.                           (Phani)
