The Central Bureau of Investigation that’s probing Jagan’s disproportionate case has asked the labour department in the state to give the details of the employees at Sakshi newspaper and television. It has also asked the ministry of information and public relations to give the complete list of journalists working for Sakshi media group in Hyderabad and other parts of the country.
It is known that CBI earlier froze the accounts of Sakshi media group after it allegedly notice illegal investments. Ever since the accounts got froze, the journalists of Sakshi media group supported by other journalists unions have been going against the CBI stating that the freedom of press was damaged.
While noted journalists in the country, who are presumably unaware of alleged irregularities, support the fight of Sakshi journalists, a large number of journalists in Andhra Pradesh are divided on the issue. Journalists are of the opinion that freezing the accounts of an accused is a part of investigation and by going against the investigation, these agitating journalists are allegedly bringing bad name to the fourth estate.
