EAMCET gets underway

The EAMCET examination for MPC students-seeking seats in B.Tech and B.E courses in at several universities across the state- have started on Saturday morning. Question set ‘Q’ has been selected. As many as 2,94,135 candidates are supposed to appear for the examination today.

The examination for BiPC students-seeking entrance in Agricultural B.Sc and medical courses including MBBS-will sit for the EAMCET examination in the afternoon. The question set ‘R’ has been selected for agricultural entrance examination for these students. The minister for medical education, Kondru Murali has said that as many as 300-500 medical seats are likely to be increased this year. The minister has said that stringent action would be taken against those medical colleges who sell the seats in black. The EAMCET medical will commence at 2.30 PM and conclude at 5.30 PM.

Meanwhile, a few students in Eluru of West Godavari district were not permitted to appear for the exam by the invigilators stating that the students were late.

On the other hand, sea of students were witnessed at several examination centres in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. RTC in twin cities is running special buses for EAMCET candidates.
