In a major breakthrough, the special police teams investigating the infamous MJM hostel sex scandal have arrested three persons in connection with the case. The nabbed persons include the former hostel warden Vijaya Kumari, administrative officer Ch Bhaskara Rao and Bhaskara Rao.
The police produced the three accused in the court. They have been remanded to judicial custody till May 23. Meanwhile, the police said they need to arrest a few more persons who allegedly involved in the scandal.
It may be recalled that Vijayawada police commissioner, Madhusudhan Reddy has pressed six special teams into action to look into the alleged MJM hostel sex scandal that came to light after the media reported on how the young girls were forced into the flesh trade.
However, a formal complaint on the case was also filed, but at a later stage by the Child and Welfare Rights Council. The sub-inspector of police, Janardhan Rao has said that they (police) would be arresting a few more persons based on the credible information they had.
