By-polls a big challenge to the Congress

The 18 assembly seats and one lok sabha seat-this is a biggest challenge before the ruling party in the state-Congress. Who in the party will shoulder the responsibility and see to it that the party emerge victorious in the by-polls? Will PCC chief Bothsa Satyanarayana come up to the expectations of the high command? How much cine glamour Chiru has? These are the questions that have been putting the party members in dilemma in the wake of confirmation of candidates to assembly and lok sabha constituencies.

There are talks in Congress whether the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy who had a high hand in selection of candidates to the by-polls would take the responsibility. At the same time, there are also questions as to how many candidates would be elected looking at the megastar-turned-MP Chiranjeevi.

On the other hand, the party members are wondering whether they would be getting votes from kamma community since Galla was not given a ticket to by-polls. Mainly, it’s becoming a challenge to Chiranjeevi to see Ramana’s victory in Tirupati constituency that’s been vacated by him. None is likely to support Ramana their, according to the sources.

Since the high command warned of stringent actions in case the party tastes defeat in by-polls, all the top leaders in the state are working seriously to ensure party’s victory. We have to wait for a couple of days to know as to what would happen to the ruling party in the state. (Phani)
