Gali bail plea dismissed again

The CBI special court today dismissed the bail petitions of the jailed former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan reddy and his brother-in-law Mr BV Srinivasa reddy.

This is the fourth time the duo had applied for bail after their arrest on Sept 5 last in the illegal mining case. The court had earlier dismissed thrice their bail petitions. The fourth time they had applied for bail in the backdrop of the CBI filing charge sheet in the illegal mining case involving the duo.

The CBI for the second time conducted searches at the houses of Gali and his brothers in Bellary on Monday and submitted a report to the court today on the raids.

CBI approaches HC

The CBI filed a petition in the AP high court today seeking permission to take custody of Sunil Reddy and Vijayaraghavan for further interrogation in the APIIC-Emaar land scam.

The CBI had to approach the state apex court as the special CBI court dismissed its petition seeking their custody for further interrogation. Both of them were arrested in the Emaar land scam a few days ago. The CBI, which first arrested Koneru Prasad in the case, had arrested IAS officer BP Acharya on Monday. (JUBS)
