Students hold rally in Armur opposing Jagan fast

Opposing the proposed 48-hour fast of YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan reddy at Armur beginning tomorrow, students affiliated to the TRS today held a rally in the town and asked Jagan not to begin his fast.

The rally was attended by JAC chairman Prof. Kodanda Ram who said Jagan should first reveal his stand on Telangana before taking up any activity in the region.

Hundreds of students marched on the streets of Armur town and raised slogans against Jagan. The rally was part of the efforts initiated by the TRS which vowed to oppose his fast. “He will not be allowed to take up his fast under any circumstances,” TRS MLA Mr Harish Rao told newsmen in Hyderabad.

Harish Rao and other leaders had asked Jagan to tender an apology to the Telangana people first for holding anti-Telangana placards in Parliament along with TDP MPs some months ago. “First, he should tender an apology for his act and then take up any programme in Telangana,” they demanded.

TRS is being forced to oppose the fast of Jagan as the TDP had alleged that TRS leaders had conspired with the YSR Congress party. (JUBS)
