The Srikrishna Committee member and former Home Secretary V.K. Duggal and his team shall be in the state today. A six-member delegation of the internal security management group of the Union ministry of home affairs, led by Mr. Duggal, will be in Andhra Pradesh to hold security-related discussions with top police officers.
The team shall meet the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday and discuss with him about the various issues on internal security in the state. The meeting shall also be attended by Director-General of Police Dinesh Reddy, along with other senior officials.
The visit is a part of an exercise conducted by the centre to understand the various issues of internal security in each state and about the measures taken. To know these details the centre had created a team of retired senior police personnel, headed by Mr. Duggal. The proposed team shall visit all the states to assess the situation. The team will submit report to the Central Government, following which concrete solution would be ascertained.
