The funeral of Prathik reddy, son of former minister Komatireddy Venkatareddy, was conducted at the SR Nagar burial ground in Hyderabad today.

Earlier, hundreds of well wishers, relatives and people from Komatireddy’s native village Brahmana Vellam in Nalgonda district, joined the funeral procession which started at his Jubilee Hills residence.

Prathik reddy, 17, was killed in a road accident on the outer ring road near Hyderabad Tuesday evening when his speeding Skoda car hit a road divider and turned upside down. The accident took place when Prathik reddy tried to avoid running over a herd of sheep.

Meanwhile, Komatireddy was inconsolable following the death of his son and he has been continuously weeping since last night over the loss of his son.

Family members said Prathik reddy was doing his first year of engineering at CBIT in Hyderabad while his younger sister Srinidhi is studying tenth class. Sources said Komatireddy has five brothers but Mr Prathik was youngest among all their sons and everyone in the family used to shower special love and affection on him.

With the death of Prathik Reddy, the entire family is in a state of shock. (JUBS)
