CBI Joint Director VV Lakshminarayana said today that a case against the TDP chief Mr Chandrababu Naidu would be registered before Monday as per the orders of the High Court.
Speaking to journalists in Delhi, Mr Lakshminarayana said registration of case against Chandrababu Naidu was delayed due to the delay in receipt of the orders of the high court. Mr Lakshminarayana was in Delhi to attend to a Supreme Court hearing on the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka minister Mr Gali Janardhan reddy.
Earlier, Mr Lakshminarayana participated in a high level meeting at the CBI headquarters wherein the premier investigating agency’s Director Mr Amar Pratap Singh reviewed the progress of investigation into Jagan’s properties case, illegal mining case and the Emaar case.
Lakshminarayana handed over the copy of high court orders concerning the probe into the properties and illegalities of Chandrababu and requested Mr Singh to allot more staff to the Hyderabad circle as the number of cases are increasing.
Both Lakshminarayana and Mr Singh have reportedly decided to form a special group of CBI officers exclusively to investigate the cases against Chandrababu Naidu, according to sources. However, the special group will take orders from Mr Lakshminarayana only.
