CPI and CPM activists today obstructed the proceedings of Rachchabanda programme at Tirupati and came in the way of congress MLA Mr Chiranjeevi’s speech alleging that he has done nothing to solve the drinking water issue in the town.
The actor-turned politician had a tough time in facing them and tried to cajole them. However, the left activists questioned his inaction and distributed pamphlets over the drinking water problem in the town.
The situation somehow came under control after the Congress MP Mr Chinta Mohan had intervened paving the way for Chiranjeevi to speak. Chiru then told the left party leaders and workers that he would strive to solve the drinking water problem in the next two months.
“I will bring the issue to the notice of the CM and see that funds are released,” he said, adding that plans are afoot to solve the issues of drinking water and traffic jams in the town in the next two months.
Chiranjeevi has arrived in Tirupati this morning to participate in the Rachchabanda programme.
