Congress party spokesperson Mr Abhishek Singhvi said today that party leadership would take a decision on Telangana before January and this is known to all congress party leaders in AP.

“Knowing this full well, three MLAs of the Congress have joined the TRS. This is a hurried decision,” he said finding fault with the MLAs who quit the congress party over Telangana five days ago.

Observing that Telangana state would not come with party leaders shifting loyalties and defecting to parties, Singhvi said that patience is needed to solve such a delicate problem as Telangana.

The congress high command has been trying to take a decision on Telangana by a process of consultations and party leaders should not take decisions in a hurry in these circumstances, he said. “You should behave like statesmen,” he told his party leaders in AP.

“It is not true that we are sitting idle on the issue. The party is sincerely trying to find a solution to the nagging problem and a decision is expected before January,” Singhvi said.
